The Project
The project involved provided lighting, stage, sound, audio-visual, special effects, heating, power generation & distribution, crowd barrier, temporary trackway matting for the annual DRAFP Student Masquerade Ball. This was exactly one week after the St Andrews Charity Fashion Show we completed on the same site.
We won the project due to our experience in pre-Production, our level of provided support and that we could do a quick turnaround between jobs. We were very pleased to work on the project as it gained us new relationships in St Andrews.
Key Project Steps
- Design and quotations
- Transport to St Andrews
- Staging build & finishing
- Lighting & Rigging installation
- Programming & operation
- Removal of all elements
Key Challenges
We experienced a few challenges such as having to deal with a quick turnaround from the FS:2018 Charity Fashion show to the DRA Ball and as the event was ran by students we had to work to short deadlines.
It was also a very cold time of the year and the low temperatures was a challenge in itself.
Client Feedback
“The team at Black Light produced a truly spectacular evening and exceeded all our expectations – the lighting, sound and effects were nothing short of professional. Not a bad experience throughout, they’re our go-to for production. Thank you for all your hard work!” Scott Mcnicol, Event Organiser.
