The Project

Black Light illuminate Paisley Abbey and Town Hall as a spectacular send off for the Paisley to Monte Carlo Classic Car Rally. We won the tender for this project by offering standard and deluxe lighting options to the council and producing quality renders of the concept to aid visualisation.

The brief was to provide an illuminated truss structure to be mounted over the rally start ramp, whilst illuminating both the Abbey and Town Hall as part of the surrounding festival. We also provided image projection onto the Abbey including a countdown timer for the rally itself.

Key Project Steps

  • Upon issuing of the tender requirements we created renders of the planned lighting and submitted a detailed proposal.
  • Following notice of the award of the project we liaised closely with the council to ensure all aspects of the event were covered, including detailed site visits, power requirements and content for the projection.
  • Our events team installed the project over 48 hours to ensure we had adequate testing time.
  • On the evening of the event our project manager and team were able to ensure smooth operation of the event, including some last minute changes due to extreme weather conditions (high winds and snow).
