The Project
Contemporary Scottish Gaelic theatre company, Theatre Gu Leor, produce Gaelic theatre with the highest production values. Their production of ‘Scotties’ focuses on ten young Irish lads from Achill who were burn to death in Kirkintilloch in 1938, the tragedy was honoured in their homeland, however in Scotland the story is barely known. Theatre Gu Leòr tells the story in a way that resonates with the younger generation in this tour of 4 Scottish venues, culminating in Ireland.
Experience
The company contacted us with requirements for hire equipment to transform a multi-use space featuring a full height climbing wall, into a temporary theatre to host the performances. We’ve worked with the creative team of Scotties on a number of productions in the past, and thanks to our range of stock and resources they asked us to provide lighting, rigging, power & distribution, as well as sound, staging and access equipment for the last leg of their tour.
